Marise Maechler

“Serving on the WII Committee and as President for more than four and a half years has been an absolute pleasure. When I first joined this incredible Association in 2018, I was so excited just to be part of it, and I’m deeply grateful for all the opportunities that followed. I’ve been pushed outside my comfort zone and have learned so much about myself along the way.

One of my biggest lessons has been to “say yes to every opportunity” because you never know where it might lead. But above all, the greatest gift WII has given me is the chance to form lifelong friendships that I might never have made otherwise.”

It is a privilege to serve on the Women in Insurance Committee, and one that I am forever grateful. Being on the Committee opened doors to so many opportunities to grow as an individual, and as a professional. I am fortunate to have connected with women in my industry and beyond, women I would never have met.

I am very proud of our WII Grant for women early into their career. The Committee welcomes them with open arms to benefit from the years of experience the Committee are so generously prepared to share. I am grateful for the strong bonds I have formed with so many of our present, and past, Committee members and our Association members, and appreciate every moment I had the pleasure to serve the insurance industry.

The best part of leading the NSW Association for Women in Insurance was the incredible sense of unity and empowerment that we fostered among our members. It was inspiring to see so many talented women coming together to support each other, share knowledge, and drive positive change within the industry. The collaborative spirit and the opportunity to work alongside industry peers with different backgrounds in insurance were definitely the highlights of my time on the Committee. Looking forward to celebrating the Association’s 40th Anniversary and reading all the amazing stories from our fellow Alumni!
